A broad recall of several widely used medications could affect you. McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling Benadryl and Motrin products for children. The voluntary recall of nearly 5 million boxes of medicine is due to what the company calls "insufficiencies" in the manufacturing process. This latest decision affects 4 million packages of Benadryl allergy tablets and 800,000 bottles of Junior Strength Motrin caplets. Although the medicines are not dangerous, the recall is underway at a drugstore near you.
The specific products involved in the recall are Children's Benadryl Allergy Fastmelt Tablets, grape flavor, code number 50580-347-18 and Junior Strength Motrin 24 count, code number 50580-498-24. Other products affected by the recall are Rolaids Extra Strength Softchews, cherry flavor, 36 count package with code number 50580-741-36 as well as three Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom liquid products, with code numbers 50580-257-08, 50580-351-08 and 50580-269-08.
